As an aside for other forum readers out there; I purchased a used Leaf EVSE for less than $200 and modified it to handle both 120v and 240v. The mod costs $20 and is fairly easy to accomplish.

I get 85% of a charge in 1hr in the plug-in Prius connected to the 240v outlet in my garage. This helps maximize EV use when making multiple trips throughout the day.

I've been on a few long road trips of greater than 2,000 miles since buying in February and still have managed about 25% of the miles on EV. Even if I had 50 miles of EV range, I don't think that proportion would change much. Perhaps 50 miles of range would bump me up to 30% EV. Not worth the extra weight/expense.

The gen1 PiP is dead; long live the gen2 PiP.
