The gearbox would basically have to be between the electric motor and the hydraulic pump. There would also likely be gearing between the hydraulic motors and the wheels, equivalent to the differential. I dont know what the ratio would be at the axles, but the transmission would probably be one or two planetary sets from something like a NP231 t-case. If I used two sets, it would net 1:1, 2.7:1, and 7.4:1 as selectable choices.

I guess I should have been more specific and made the distinction between fixed gearing and selectable gearing. I have known fixed gearing would be required from the outset.
