I went over 100 miles past the fuel warning light in the Prius and climbed the pass in Mt. hood, passing by the expensive gas stations out of principle. My math said we could make it knowing the MPG readout is ~2 MPG optimistic.

The engine shuts off at 10.3 gallons, and I pumped 10.1 into the tank. I had perhaps another 10 miles left in gas and another 8 in EV range.

Normally it wouldn't make me nervous, but I had my wife and her friend with me. That and I fought a strong headwind the last 100 miles.
