tahoe last gen bought scanner

bought scanner, dialing in the gas consumption.

4wd 5.3L 15.3 to 15.9 mpg mixed driving, from manual fill up calculation. about 56% hwy miles.

Removed roof rack xmember- last owner did this and it was a rental company, maybe someone took it.

removed 3rd row seats.

general usage is to and from work, hauls many weekend home improvement materials, and hauling a small 3000 pound camper.

I'm 6'6" so this truck has been a good fit and saves my back every time I put the baby in the car seat. Getting the extra mpgs is now a game and maybe sheds some guilt. It hauled us thru many deep snow drifts and nearly closed hwys last Christmas day to visit both grandmas, probably not going to remove the 4wd. It will be fun to see how close I can get the new hybrid tahoe mpgs on the hwy.

possible future mods

reduced rolling resistance tires
final drive change, need to research that one.

wasn't some Silverado's a few years ago built as a mild "hybrid", (engine off at stops and assisted electric motor- maybe there is something to swap with the tahoe.
