Teknomage, there is no evidence that the '13 chemistry change significantly affected durability compared to '11-12. While '15+ maybe improved, it's still too early to know how much.

You can be reasonably sure that the '16 30kWh chemistry is improved given the significantly better warranty.

IMO the increase unusable range that the 30kWh pack will give over the 24kWh makes it a no brainer unless you are leasing for 2-3 years or don't ever need more than 50 miles of range between charges for as long as you plan on keeping the car.

Over on TMC there are guys looking to do aero covers but instead of drilling the wheels they are using extended lug nuts with M5 holes tapped into them for mounting the cover. Seems like a much better way to do it as you avoid permanently modifying the wheels.
