Thanks Doc, after reading your first post I was hoping you'd post again with this kind've info, as a few people have mentioned potassium.
I would be what you'd call a badly prepared/stuborn athlete haha. But in reality I'd only take 1 or 2 electrolyte tablets a year when I've really messed up and struggling badly.

Lazarus I suggest you really take on what Doc has said, especially the first post re diet and breakfast, and Bike 'Ed's comment on letting your body adapt to the heat - those things should come before sports drinks and electrolyte hits IMO. Maybe you can use the amount of sports drink you need each week as a simple indicator of your fitness in the heat, suitability of diet, etc.
