I have a bike almost exactly like the pimp mobile
it is an 81 Suzuki GN400X. It has been sitting so long and parts are hard to find for it so there is no way I would actually put it on the road and try and drive it any real distances like I do my DR. I've put 9400 miles on it since buying it new one year ago
As far as instrumentation don't forget to go to the bicycle dept at walmart or wherever and get a bike speedometer. They can usually get up to around 75mph reliably and give lots of info like top speed and avg speed. I got a little speedometer for $9 at walmart and it is pretty nice.
