been a long time but guess what. it's still be leaking. and i'm finally annoyed with it enough to try again.
i replaced the valve cover gasket, the distributor o-ring, the inner distributor seal, and none of those made a dent in the leak. i had given up, believing it was a weird external oil leak coming from the head gasket, which i wasn't about to replace for an annoying oil leak.
but today i remembered seeing an ad for VX years ago that said it had an oil leak at the V-TEC solenoid. i never knew what that was or where it was located so i looked it up. surprise, it's on the back side of the head, just behind the distributor. so i checked mine and it's covered in oil so i'm going to go ahead and replace those seals and see what happens.
it sure would be nice to not smell burning oil every time i have the blower fan on at a red light so my fingers are crossed.
