yeah this..... cost benifit.... who cares..... the reason i want to put a v8 in my saxo is to go stupid fast.... could i buy a second hand sports car... sure.... wheres the fun in that
i would like to build it cos i like building things.... anyway
some thoughts
an engine i pulled out today, see pic.... with a front wheel drive engine it seems to me it would be easy enough to either lock the right side of the diff.... or just weld the diff so its locked.... so if the engine is placed long ways in a bike the output form the gearbox could go to the back easy....
now obviously this would have to be a trike idea rather then a bike cos its a car gearbox..... but that would mean as long as the rear wheel was the same or a bit bigger you wouldnt have to worry about the drive train at all as its all as it was in the donor car
the reason im thinking this way round rather then a front engined front wheel drive is for areo..... although farrrrrr more practical..... if you want practicle... just buy a car..... rear engined rear drive could be made a lot thiner giving way smaller frontal area..... plus im skinny as hell so i dont need much room lol
edit.... im only allowed 146kb for pics for some reason so i cant show you it
