New Guy

I'm a new guy here - just signed up today.
Another one lost in the sea of engineers and techs
Civil engineer graduated in 2012, currently working as a Construction Estimator.
Want to build my own homes in the future:
1) Micro-home on wheels
2) Tree-house
3) Hobbit-house
Lived in apartments all my life, so I'm used to small living spaces. During college I had a bachelor apartment which I shared with my dog, snake, 2 geckos, big fat frog, 2 tarantulas, and a 50 gallon fishtank with 25-30 fish.
Also since moving to Canada about 10 years ago, I've noticed that North Americans suffer from the consumerism disease (which I'm afraid I've caught too). Big houses filled with tons of junk, garages filled with junk - INSTEAD OF CARS, big trucks for small pen***s, big appetites, and of course big bellies.
I think that switching to smaller cars, smaller homes with less stuff in them, smaller appetites and smaller debts are the better way.
