Yeah, cars went wrong with continual escalation. Taking a fun little British convertible and dropping a V-8 in it is cool. Strengthening the frame and beefing up the suspension only makes sense at that point. And you know, the seat isn't all that comfortable. After a few iterations you have one of those pathetic barges with huge horsepower numbers that can't get out of its own way.
