I remember driving with my Dad in 1962 and he bought gas for $.099. It was a gas war and across the street it was $.109.
I started driving a VW beetle in 1967. It had a 10 gallon tank and gas was around 25 cents a gallon. As long as I owned it, I was never able to put over 3 dollars worth of gas in it a one time
