After the crappy winter MPG, I'm getting ready to buy a new set of wheels/tires for Spring. I'm looking at a set of tall skinnies on some light weight steelies. Or in other words I'm going from 215-75-15's to 205-75-15's on steel Chevy rally wheels over the stock (heavier) aluminum wheels. They should add up to about 6lbs weight savings per wheel. The new summer tires are rated as a low rolling resistance design, "Kumho Sense Grand Touring All-Season Radial". From my present winter tires, "Firestone Winterforce". I'm also going to finish these off with a set of the popular "pizza pan" hub caps for whatever aero gain they provide.

I was getting a reliably measured 26 MPG on these Kumho tires in the 215-75-15 size with the heavier stock aluminum wheels. So 6lbs x 4 = -24lbs should equal a small amount of improvement with the tire size, weight reduction, and aero improvements.

PS
@ star_deceiver, nice Cat pics. I ride that brand as well.
