Jason Torchinsky thinks it's a good idea.

I did a Google search on 'smart fortwo cutaway drawing' and found :

Apparently the suspension is the same. I guess, worst case, you take the Smart unit body and cut it down into a subframe, or fab a subrame from scratch..

So what is the odd car in question? It would be interesting to stick one in the back of a VW Beetle.
