My boat has a 6.5 Chevy turbo diesel in it. I saw some black smoke when the waste gate arm jammed open when it caught on the heat shield. I could hear that something was wrong with the exhaust note. A quick bend with a Crescent wrench put the turbo whine right back where it belongs....right out the 27'' long exhaust pipe.
