Those (above) tests are NOT the same as the EPA Fuel Economy tests, they were done by Intertel for Idaho National Laboratory (contractor to EPA).

The EPA FE tests are done using this 'schedule' test sequence:



...and, notice the statement "Average Speed = 48.3 mph" -- even LESS than EPA's normal 50-55mph maximum -- and that 60 mph is only achieved THREE times...and only very briefly!
