I've never really met an intelligent person who thought cash for clunkers was a good thing. I've met a few stupid people who attempted to explain to me how their toxic-battery-laden Prius or gas-guzzling Dodge Ram were sound purchases for the environment...

Not just the debt associated with a new car, but it also becomes harder (more expensive) to deal with the sophisticated engine management systems when it comes to alternative fuels conversions, which sounds like Obama and the oil exporters are in bed with each other. Anyway, it was exactly the Cash for Clunkers that sparked again some bad feeling that I already held about Obama when he was elected but tried to keep down in order to not be labelled "racist"...
