Tranny update - not the Jenner kind, the gearset kind:
I was looking for a title that I had misplaced, not for the Geo, and I found the receipt for the transmission I bought from the junkyard.
I laughed.
I looked over it.
I choked a little.
Fourth line down - the guy charged me 30 bucks for a 12 month warranty. Had I known this at the time I would have had it refunded. I don't buy warranties, I void warranties.
Turns out I have until November to go get myself a replacement gearbox at no charge.
I'm really conflicted - I recall asking the guy why the price was so high and he told me that it was environmental fees. I paid, took my receipt and left. The guy tried to cheat me out of 30 bucks (I'm sure he got a kick back for selling the warranty to the 'schmuck') but in the long run it is only going to help me. Did he do me a favor? Do I care? FREE TRANSMISSION.
