I am attempting this on a mechanical injected diesel so I have full control.
It is possible to achieve the results Autospeed couldn't if you have an aftermarket ecu (Power FC, etc), to reduce the "global" injector value.
I used to run the injector values 15% low, and advance the timing 5° on my turbo S13 when cruising to events, and the economy was definitely improved.
I think you guys are already running lean if you have a WAI though? - which costs next to nothing vs $1000's for an ECU to tweak things.
