yes, it has I-VTEC, and has bars beside the speedometer that are green but with throttle pressure transition to blue. There is no light that specifically says which cam is engaged, but by watching the bars and fuel mileage gauge you can clearly see it. After driving it for this long i can feel it also.
The 1.8 (r18) civics have an "ECON" mode that changes the shift points and throttle rate, so it makes a big difference. it's like a built in fuel coach.
