I insist there is no "speed of traffic." Everyone is different and insists on driving a different speed (over the limit), with a different ability\tendency to maintain that speed. Am I supposed to do my best to drive so that half of drivers think that I am driving dangerously by going too slow and half think I am driving dangerously by driving too fast?

I am at Mom's house, which involves driving a hundred and sixty miles up and down mountains and through canyons. It takes four hours at 55 MPH, although everything indicates my speedometer reads 4 MPH fast. For various reasons, I try to leave early in the morning, but I did not leave until 09 yesterday. I know the HX supposedly usually follows various rules for lean burn, the one I remember is 2,600 RPM, so I did my best to maintain that, which was usually 69 MPH according to my dash.

The speed limit down the canyon is 55 MPH and I was engine braking in third gear about seventy. Huge SUVs were tailgating me around the corners and cutting off everyone as they wove through traffic.

Obviously, I and my 2,500 pounds of Civic were a menace to society!
