The only problem I see with this whole thread is that if you are caught exceeding gvwr of your vehicle minus your weight as well, you are technically illegal.
I'm sure they don't care where you live or what not, but I have had lots of friends who attend track days with an F-150 and a trailer with the car loaded up and stuff they need for the weekend, get pulled over, taken to the weight station, and given a ticket for being over gvwr. Sizeable tickets too.

So for my 96 Honda civic I'm able to carry 850 pounds minus my 180 pound body weight, that leaves 670 pounds for the entire trailer. That doesn't really affect me too much though since i MIGHT carry a lawn mower, or a piece of furniture, but... thats not much weight for a traditional trailer like some of you guys have pictured.
