But this isn't the MAP sensor we are talking about. This is a barometer that would presumably feed the computer altitude info so the computer would know the oxygen content of the air. I had never heard of it before, that's why I was questioning it.

FWIW, my Escort has a MAF while my Firebird has both a MAF and a MAP. Earlier versions of that same engine had no MAF.
