That video was just getting good! I have a dream of making a squatter's cabin out in the woods, I have a few spots picked out. Unfortunately I think it would need to be hidden, not at a pretty spot on a lake. I want to make a heated floor with a rocket mass heater and use homebuilt structural insulated panels for the walls and roof over a post and beam skeleton. Worst case the Forest Service or a bear would find it and tear it down, best case it would save a lost hiker's life. They used to permit stuff, like the nice cabin in the video, but not anymore. Now they would rather have people living on the streets in a city, then being somewhat self sufficient out in the woods. Even if somebody bought the land they would give them a hard time about just living simple in a cabin. I noticed in the video he had several ADA violations...
