Today I needed to take my youngest boy, 9months, in to his check up. I just got an OBD2 bluetooth connector and the Torque app to monitor my civic. But I wanted to see what I could get out of my 2000 Subaru Outback automatic. So my wife and I loaded up the boys and ourselfs. I hooked up the OBD2 and booted the app.
WOW!
Driving from our house 13 miles away from the Corvallis hospital, plus a short trip (3 miles to the North Co-op, then another 14 miles to get home.
On the instantaneous meter I was able to get 40mpg in town with DFCO / P&G.
The whole trip I was able to avg 36.2 mpg.
WOW!
I know that I am still learning how to drive better, and that the gauges are not 100% spot on.
But still. Wow!
Also I assume Subaru does DFCO because when I would put the tranny into N the instant mpg drops by almost 50% compaired to leaving it in D.
N=58+ mpg
D=108+ mpg
