Papier mache would allow you to layup extremely compound surfaces,which after drying,could be glassed over.A wire armature and hardware cloth or chicken wire could support the paper until glassing,then removed after.
Also,pie pieces can be cut from cardboard to allow complex bends,taping back together at the seams.
There's more than one way to skin a car!
