Forcing you to use more revs... to drive inefficiently? Besides, a 400hp car isn't "eco" mode in any universe.
Short shifting when there's an ignoramus behind the wheel isn't "eco" either. Short shifting (and avoiding downshifts when possible) when the driver understands what's going on and participates a bit, now that's eco mode.
Of course, so is giving us manuals- except they also depend on the driver wanting to get a little bit of mileage.
