My guess is marketing.
It seems terribly redundant to scallop the wheel openings, and vent the wells from the rear with that vertical slot and to also have louvers.
I mean, that's three different ways the front wheel wells are vented, did the first two ways fail and they resorted to the tried and true louvers?
Or did customers expect to see louvers like on everything else in that market and express disappointment?

I have not been taught/trained to interpret these types of images and find them often suspect. Perhaps because I do not understand them, or they are often just wrong, who knows?
