The more front wheel venting, the better - I guess.
If you have the time, check out the evolution of this Indy race car from the 1960's. I specifically like the image of taking a hacksaw to it. Long story short, started out being enclosed wheel wells, then vented, then a bit open at the top, and then
really open at the top. They hacked it up good in the end, but it just kept on getting faster all the while.
