I took a running start up a mountain once, with the throttle floored in 1st gear, and it bogged down before I could make it all the way up. Then again, this was with the 2.2L engine, and I had 5 people plus camping and rock climbing gear onboard. A 2.5L with auto tranny may have made it up.
