You can calibrate the torque based on real calculations. My torque seems to read really close to hand calculating on my 2002 Forester. But is way off on my 5.7 Hemi I think because it can't handle the cylinder deactivation. My van has a built in guage that is much easier to use and pretty accurate. The OBD2 adaptor is always in the Subaru needless to say. My Subie also throws the catalyst efficiency code on the highway after an hour or so as well and it's nice to just clear it on the fly.
