Yeah I didn't expect it to throw off that much heat when I built it. Also keep in mind I have a fan in there to cool it, I figured with the fan it wouldn't be terrible. In any case, I'm replacing the 500W bulb with a 300W, which is still plenty. I also got some new switches in from Mouser that are rated for higher amperage, so I can replace the one that got fried by the bulb.
