I have no pressure regulator, but the pump does cycle on an internal pressure switch. I also had to add a water hammer arrestor as a mini accumulator to prevent pressure from surging as the pump cycled.
The electrical side of things is just an over rated logic level mosfet and a resistor. I ran short on room on my PCB so the mosfet and resistor are covered in shrink tube and part of the wiring harness.
