Recall that the template is optimized for minimized surface area or maximum volume.

The more slender you go, typically the lower Cd, that is until skin friction begins to get detrimental. This is still a short body relatively speaking, any elongation should help lower the Cd in my opinion, but will admit I could be wrong. Only the proper testing can verify, right?

It is okay to go longer than the Aerotemplate, better than going shorter to say the least. Just look at the middle image above with the asterisk, this is pretty much our template shape.
