Why would you think of 12 year old cars as 'old'? At least if they're Hondas or Toyotas, they're just barely getting broken in. I drive a 2000 Insight and '88 Toyota pickup, and (barring accidents) expect to keep on doing so for a good many years.

Granted, I don't live in a place where the state dumps tons of corrosive chemicals on the roads every year, so things don't generally rust much.
