I didn't realize it was a 1st-gen Prius when you mentioned it was a 2001 Prius. But anyway, I also forgot how narrow those Art Deco trucks were. Have you never considered to use at least a 3rd-gen Prius since it's fitted with a chainless transaxle?
BTW what are you going to do with the rear axle? What about adapting the rear axle of the Prius since you won't need a differential housing?
