Actually it's not a swap. Nissan offered the XTerra with a Brazilian MWM Sprint 4.07TCA (TCE for the common-rail versions) 2.8L 4-cyl turbodiesel, backed by a 5-speed manual Eaton FSO 2405 transmission, for the local Brazilian market and regional exports to Argentina. There might be more of it in other countries such as Paraguay and Bolivia, presumably stolen in Brazil and Argentina. The same engine had also been fitted to the S10 and the Blazer in Brazil until 2011.
