I wanted the hole down and away from the bike so that is the angle with the ground. The pipe for the cat is just inside the outer can so stop drilling when you break through. There are some brackets that I encountered with the first couple test holes that aren't pictured in the cutaway photo so that is why I have included the measurement photo.
