I stumbled into ecomodding and hypermiling 15 years ago. I was driving a V6 Fiero with a non-overdrive auto transmission, and had to watch it to keep it from becoming a gas hog. Luckily, my dad used to rebuild transmissions and gave me some pointers.

Today, I have a 2005 Acura MDX and recently bought a 2017 VW Beetle. Thus far, my best tank was 42 MPG hypermiling the Beetle by working the tiptronic carefully. Definitely looking at how I can further improve the mileage on these cars.
