Early Beetles look good in gloss black.
The Beetle in my avatar pic had rear fenders cut at 24" of clearance, the legal limit.
I took one picture of the backend; but if I ever found it I don't have a scanner at present. The bumblebee deck lid was cut at about 21" on a curve. The fender edge was rolled.
