Welp, no news for the Miata...other than she got a bath this morning, along with my Firefly, which I was putting on the road again for the first time since transferring my plates to the Miata.

I was going to take a pic of the to gals together, where I washed them side by side, but I dropped the ball on that one. Still, my purple Firefly cleaned up pretty well:

Why'd I do it? Well, after the weekend - riding my little motorcycle too much - I was sore and stiff, and really didn't appreciate the stiff clutch and the less than perfect sitting position in the Miata on my drive to work. This is exactly why I like having two cars on the road...one for comfort, one for fun. And the insurance expired on my TDI, so no more comfort when I needed it.

Rather than renew the insurance on the TDI, I went for my Firefly. I blame MetroMPG for putting the notion in my head.

A firefly might not have many "comforts", but it's just plain comfortable to drive. Soft clutch. Tons of headroom. The seat is positioned and angled just right, and is comfortable...and not so big that I slide around on it.

Having been away/without it for a while, I'm wholly appreciative of her again. Contrast is wonderful.

Viva la Firefly!
