Even though disc brakes do dissipate heat more effectively and therefore become less prone to thermal fading, sometimes a regular drum doesn't seem so bad at all. BTW isn't there any conversion kit to get rid of the drum-in-hat setup and get the parking brake also operating the disc available for the 406? Well, even though it wouldn't lead to a huge weight-saving, decreasing the unsprung mass is often pointed out as a good improvement for handling.
