We picked the afternoon of the 15th.This is the day of tech inspection for the 2017 USFRA World of Speed.Racing begins the 16th.
Anyone who shows up will have a chance to see Bonneville if they haven't already.You'll see some of Layne's work 'at work' out there,as he's been helping many of the teams dial in the aero on their streamliners.I'm gonna go at least one day.

*here you can see the new bed cover fairings which provide the formerly lacking edge radii needed for the ring-vortex.Also,the 'trunk' opening in the new boat tail ,
for enroute storage of the stinger and fake Dodge Viper windshield.

*This is the scuttle opening in the floor of the boat tail,which will have a removable panel which lifts up and out to reveal the opening.With both car ramps,I'll be able to step up and over inside and down through the floor of the tail,onto the wind tunnel floor,allowing me to lift the boat tail off Spirit for a tailless measurement.
Here is a 11/16th-18 tpi tee-nut and hand-bolt I'm using for the 1st time.These will allow blind attachments without fear of pull-outs or fastener spins.
I've been able to work (on the days it doesn't storm) 'til around 4:00 PM,when the heat index hits 105F,then it's time for a shower and inside the house cool down,'til 7:00 PM,when I can go back out and do yard work until 8:30 or 9:00.
