The shafts from the turbo and the starter-generator could be geared in angle, allowing it to be set a little further enought to easily heat-shield it. Anyway, probably a water-cooled turbo would also make it safer, and it may also be a good excuse to try ceramic coatings (or even a fully-ceramic housing) to decrease heat irradiation that could eventually be detrimental to the starter-generator.
