BMW started its motorcycle production with utility models, that were even meant to be attached to a side-car. Even though the G-310 series follows a sportier approach (including the dual-purpose GS), this lower displacement might attract some motorcyclists who were looking for something more suitable to daily commuting and closer to that utilitarian origin. I would just not get one because BMW motorcycles have been too sought after by thieves in the POS of a country where I live and I'm not willing to take that risk.
