The most stable "at speed" car I've ever been in or have driven is my 1977 Porsche 911 (rear engine).

The laws of physics are completely against this car, yet it is the best at everything.

This proves that if one puts +70 years into mastering a single engineering concept, anything can be done.

EDIT: My wife had two Geo Metro's, they both suffered from what I call "suck under". Perhaps with the majority of large trucks operating with side-skirts this would no longer be the issue it was back in the day.
