It really doesn't pertain to this thread directly, my swap will be in a 2001 Insight (my second) with a CRV gearbox and tires in the 26-30" range. The car will be hooked up to a teardrop trailer most of its life.

Haha, my insight is an 01 as well!!! That being said, With how little aero drag the insight produces, we should be able to have the engines run quite lean under VERY little load at just about any reasonable speed. In the insight the K20 would probably do much better for MPG If not for just reduced pumping losses. on the otherhand, The CRV world benefit from the added torque for sure though.
AS A SIDE NOTE
If you use the Inovate swap mount kit you HAVE TO use the k20 trans regardless of the swap kit/engine that you use.. The K24 swap kit does NOT use the K24 trans as one would assume, nor does it specify that the K24 trans will not work... Its a good way to get boned out of $500..... and they refuse to fix the problem....
With that out of the way, a word of caution..... the Insight with a turbo K series is just asking for disaster. At 320hp to the wheels (
very easily attainable for a turbo k series) puts you pretty close to the hp/lb ratio of the Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2.... with MUCH less aero drag, downforce, suspension, traction, or breaks, ect... You see the problems that could arise.
Not saying that it shouldn't/cant be done, Just plan ahead.
I am running KYB AGX struts with Ground control coil-overs and Knuckles from an 05 Civic with larger brakes. Hopefully i will be able to make a MASSIVE rear diffuser and front splitter "
because racecar"
