Imagine how much better MPG you might get if you used an engine-oil heater while the car was sitting overnight in that garage; either in-block or merely a 60W lightbulb under the oil pan.

Of course, that means you will have to balance cost-of-petrol versus cost-of-electricity; but, a definite benefit would be early morning cabin heating would be faster!
