As soon as NASCAR starts becoming more fuel endurance and less 'fast as you can' racing they will start thowing caution flags every 40 laps to make the fuel economy moot. They already throw questionable debris cautions toward the end of long races that haven't seen many cautions. They want a pack of cars and photo finishes at the end. I hate it, I like the old days where the crews and engineers that did the most work all preseason long could end up lapping the entire field.
