A few new European cars have single wipers for the entire screen. Mind you, they normally park below the bonnet line. Would a modified, raised bonnet rear edge, be an option for some vehicles. My Jazz bonnet is tiny and wouldn't require much raising to hide the parked wipers, possible even just a rubber strip!
